Hi there! I'm new to the forum, and happy to find this kind of resource.
Several years ago I began accumulating (as opposed to collecting) posters and handbills pertaining to jazz and experimental music. I publish a music magazine called Signal to Noise which deals in a range of music from free jazz to electro-acoustics to experimental rock and beyond ... being the pack rat that I am, I've saved almost everything over the past 12 years, from 100s of gigs and from daily correspondence with bands, labels and music people. More recently I've been seeking out and adding some historical items ... things from the numbered series, a really nice Rick Shubb print for Thelonious Monk and Dr John at the Carousel Ballroom, various flyers of '70s loft jazz stuff. Eventually about a year ago we did a exhibition at the Art Institute here in Houston which was well-received and covered enthusiastically by the local press.
Now finally I've gotten round to organizing an exhibit to be published in the magazine itself. We're focusing on a handful of artists, including (but not limited to) NY's Steven Cerio, Chicago's Dan Grzeca, Houston's David Wang, Massachusetts' Amy Borezo. I'm wondering if there's anyone of this forum who collects these artists in particular or jazz/improv prints in general who might be willing to be briefly interviewed by e-mail for a short bit of text that'll accompany the feature. Instead of posting to this thread, it's probably best to get me via e-mail (editor@signaltonoisemagazine.org) since I don't want to risk violating forum TOS by quoting from a thread on the site.
Thanks for reading. Hopefully this message is in the appropriate place ... I'm just the new guy here, but I dig the site and will definitely stick around!
