As part of the festivities around Flatstock 24 in Austin, I'm happy to announce a STUDENT poster contest, open to any High school, College, or University graphic design, art, or printmaking student in TEXAS.
Students - attending a school in Texas. Yep. (sorry if you are in another state or country, we have logistic and time constraints, and this is kind of a test - if successful, we may expand the contest for another flatstock for other areas)
All the details are here, including entry info: The Great Texas Rock Poster Contest
(note we are still tweaking, don't be too critical, and we borrowed a few previous FS posters for examples - hope YOU don't mind, Dan and others.)
Prizes include a lot of screenprinting equipment and materials for the winning student and their schools, care of a great group of industry suppliers. Plus a pair of SXSW wristbands and lots more.
If you know any Texas art teachers or students, please let them know. Deadline for entries is Mar1.
This is brought to you with generous support by the API, Coronado Studio and the Serie Project, Speedball, Sefar, Kiwo, Autotype, Ulano, Newman Roller Frames, Coudray Technologies, SGIA, Graphic Solutions Group and Squeegeeville. Special thanks to James Beard and Sam Coronado at the Serie project, and el prez Geoff.
Spread the word! Let's get these darn kids screenprinting!!!
