Going rate for posters in New York City

This week I am going to New York City and meeting with a venue to try to do posters for them. I currently live in Cleveland and most likely Cleveland’s posters are a lot cheaper than New York City posters. I would like to have my prices be similar to the prices that New York City poster artists charge. Can anyone please fill me in on the price for a poster in New York City? Right now all the artists in Cleveland charge around $20 plus the cost of copies for a poster that is done that is then copied. Thank you so much!

Yes. This is for non-silkscreened posters.

Also I paint my posters. When I do art for a band I always offer up the painting to them, so it is a painting for $20.

What do you think is a good price? I don't want to ask too much money then get it so bands that I like (poor indie bands), can't afford my art.

I'm pretty sure that the going rate in NYC is well above $20. $20 will barely cover the time and fare it takes to get to the copy shop.

hell if i know, i don't know your scene or situation. maybe $200, and when you get approached by a truly poor indie band that you love, $20.

wiggle room is a part of currency.

the only people who should get original paintings for free are you parents and your significant other, immediate family, etc.
