Too many bands out there are the same bands that ALWAYS get posters made. Nothing offensive, lots of artists have similar tastes in music. But I'd like to know from non-poster artists which BANDS are out there that you WANT to see us try to do some mean posters for. Anybody you just can't find a good poster for? Anybody flying just under the radar that needs to get their props? Also, tell me about venues, cities, etc that don't get props like you'd like to see them.

Speed,

I do lots of illustration work in the Death/Black metal scene and I almost never see posters for those types of bands. I'm working on fixing that problem.

I love the Melvins. They have always been one of my favorite bands but they just have way to many posters done for them. It's insane.

Max,
Yeah, I did a Melvins poster (I think it's on here), and yer right, I think I made it just because I was like "gee, I've made it now, I've made a Melvins poster!" Same prob with Southern Culture on the Skids (who I love), Social D, and any band that plays rockabilly/hootenanny stuff. I'm not into black/death metal, but you should talk to Trucker, he lives in Tampa now which is like the home base for that scene.

For awhile I was digging making Uncle Tupelo, Whiskeytown, Son Volt posters, but then everybody jumped on the alt-country train (can't blame 'em, great stuff).

Hot Water Music is a great band that only has a couple of posters (from me and from Sheinkopf), but that's probably cause we're all from Gainesville, home of emo..........

I'm a relatively new admirer of the gp scene, so it may be that I haven't looked hard enough, but I have been surprised not to find any Luna posters.

I'd also like to see something for The Rentals - but I realize it's tough when Matt Sharp hasn't had the band on the road for about 3 years.

Luna is a great idea, great band.
If yer from NC, you familiar with whiskeytown/Ryan Adams? I'm going to see him/photograph him this week in Hollywood. Last time I saw the band he was so drunk he puked on stage....more than once....

I havven't seen too much Pennywise stuff lately, but I haven;t checked the site so that's pure conjecture, or some lit term like that.

I'm still hoping to see some Fuzzhead art here sometime...Ohio band, maybe pretty obscure there even...doped up funked out space rockers, inadequate description...tripped out hip hoppy rock'n'roll; or maybe just cool....i'm sure they've got some great posters out there somewhere...

i was supposed to do a boysetsfire poster last fall...had awesome art already drawn for it and everything...but I just ran out of time...If anyone's booking a boysetsfire show let me know and I can kick out this poster really quick...HA!

I think I may actually save it for this spring for a show that Strike Anywhere may be playing for a local activist group...unless something else appropriate comes up first.

I wanna see a Hickey or Fuckface flyer...I love those bands even though they're long gone. Or Charles Bronson.

If The Gossip were to come to my town, I'd love to do a poster foe 'em. They seem pretty cool...there was an article about them in Vice magazine a little while ago. Just listened to their "Sweet Baby" MP3 at the Kill Rock Stars site...looks like I have another "fave band"! And Beth Ditto is a goddess.
