Okay, lemme just say this: Its the 21st century, right? Does this website really need to be sponsored by VARLA a site which is just a bunch of naked chicks and beer (oh yeah.. and a bit of music) that has nothing to do really with Gig Posters except maybe theres some horny guys that get off on like PUNK ROCK DUDE and girls with big boobs strutting their stuff like deer caught in headlights? I've seen that site before and I', surprised that Gig Posters would take their money. Yes, it is true: I, Sweet Jesus, lord almighty frown upon these lowly activities. Varla is kidding itself if it thinks its cool to put women back in the 1950s. Amen.

Here's the scoop:

Gigposters.com needs money to help pay for this site. Its not cheap. Thats why we charge for advertising, and we don't make a cent off it.

I think that Varla relates to half the art on this site! Its got a great section on music with tour dates and reviews.. plenty of good info.

I respect your opinion, but this site is all about music, rock art and the community that surrounds it. I honestly feel that it is a valid ad to have on the site. I am sorry if that offends you. Please take it up with Varla and the artists on this site who draw similar posters.

Y'know what? Its just dissapointing that everything--EVERYTHING has to come down to porn and, as you said yourself, money. Sigh. Its is time for me to shed a tear for the idea that women may have made it beyond sex objects. Lies made baby jesus cry. Hail satan. Amen.

hey, they put alot of time and effort into this site... it has united artists and helped other get gigs, heck i have met new artists to do artwork for me..

if you can do better, go do your own site...

but until then, they have to pay bills and this is an art site! art is subjective, what you think is porn others think its art.. look through this site hard, and you will find more nudity and "porn" in the posters created here...

its art... and in a forum like this, i cant see how anyone can pass judgement on the hard work and open-minded owners of this site

I agree with Philaarts. It's all very subjective. I would hardly consider Varla "porn" It's certainly not like Penthouse or Hustler. At least the pictures have an artistic look to them. And lets face it, men have always liked to look at beutiful women and they always will. That does not mean they see "all" women as sex objects. I would like to think that most men are a little smarter than that. I don't think Varla degrades women.

In this day and age you can't do anything without offending someone, so what are you gonna do? your gonna get Varla to advertise and help support your art.

yeah, i agree.. i mean its advertising.. and this dude puts alot of his time into this site.. if you dont like something dont look... but are we so backwards that a nude body is now lude? comeon, even if it was hard porn.. this is the modern world... look if you like, or turn your eyes...

i think next you should advertise cigarettes and vodka! go for it bro!!! who cares? and whos business is it but clays?

I don't think that anyone has the right to tell a business owner who or what they should or should not have advertise on their site.

Sweetjesus, I think you are a bit out of line here. We live in a country where its free enterprise (almost LOL), freedom of speech and expression. You are on the net!

I looked at the Varla site. I agree with connor13, I don't believe it falls into the catagory of "porn."

I have been coming to this site for a short time, but I think its great! There is nothing like this out there. My hats off to Kendra and Clay for doing one hell of a great job.
