Default Alice in Chains, help with contact?

I misplaced this, sorry for the double post...

I made this Alice in Chains poster for club 013 in Tilburg, Holland. It was pretty short noticed so there was no time to send a sketch for approval by the management. For approval, sketches and finished designs are sent through Mojo, the gigantic all eating bookingangency (I suspect them to get stuck there, but that's another story).
I finished the poster in time, and was pretty happy how it turned out, giving the short time I had. But after sending it to the venue, I got a mail from 013 that the management just wants the album artwork as promotion for the shows. (again i suspect that's Mojo putting this in the contracts with the venues, and not necessarily something the band/management know's about or agrees with?)
I'm getting paid half of what i would have if the poster went in print, so that's ok I guess.
But I'm kinda bummed about it, the only thing from not feeling like I wasted my time and a good design is screenprinting them myself. Something I planned on doing from when I started on the poster.
My only problem now is getting approval for that, and I don't think I'm gonna get a lot more help from the venue, so I need to get in touch with the band's management myself.
I'm not sure where to start with that.
I was hoping anyone here could help me out a bit?

    If so Thanks in advance...
    here's the poster,

This is not uncommon. If that's all the venue is willing to do for you you should save yourself the energy and quit while you're ahead.

The lesson to be learned here is that if you move forward with a design before getting band approval, you're always taking a chance that you might just be wasting your time. Sounds a little like you didn't get the answer you wanted and you're having trouble accepting it.

yup, that stuff happens. I would say do not contact the management. The promoters that you spoke with will get the idea that you are undermining them and that you don't trust them. I say wait it out. That's just me though.

or, tell the promoter upfront that you need band contact info
when needed, that works for us

You have to keep in mind the number of artists worldwide that would like a piece of that sort of pie. Doesn't seem like it would be too cool for a venue or other party to share their contact info with an artist or anyone else without first clearing it with the band.

I've had the pleasure to work with AIC directly. They're great people and very professional. They're aware of the poster art scene and follow it somewhat. In fact, their manager for 20 years came by my booth while browsing at Flatstock a few years ago. So what I'm saying is maybe it's best not to print that if you've been told no. There's a good chance they'll see it, & then you've burned a big bridge before you've even had a chance to cross it.

Mojo has booked some of my band's shows throughout the years in the Netherlands. They always send art for Approval. Always. If they say the band and or management does not want to use your art, then I would say you have your answer right there.

Thanks for the wise words everybody
But yeah, I guess I'm having trouble swallowing this pill.. I'm getting there though

Thing is I did sent in a sketch for approval, the venue just decided not to sent it through, since there was not enough time before the posters would get in print for the promotion.
So we took the risk to go ahead, with good hope management would approve the final design. That there was were it went wrong. Only thing is, the venue already knew about the albumart thing way up front, i guess they just forgot about it. Untill it was too late and the poster was made.

Anyway, we're moving on, pill's swallowed, lessons learned.
    Thanks again.

#Perkins; I would never print anything without approval from band and venue..
#Moss; That's good to hear. I'm not to fond of the whole mojo deal, but i guess we're stuck with them..
