Image taped down and under the screen for tracing. I thought I was clever using the triangle to square it up, but the screen isn't square anyway. I'm pleased with how well I can see through the screen for tracing.

Depending on your monitor brightness/contrast settings you may not see this, but here is the pencil drawing traced on the screen for a guide.

Nope. I'm about 65 miles west right now. Sorry. Feel free to point out my bad habits. I'm trying to do this in the interest of learning from my mistakes.

If I were anywhere near a place that sold some this weekend, I might do this, but I'm just using what I have now.

Drawing fluid is blue, much to my relief. For some reason I thought it wold be clear or white or something stupid and hard to see. To my dismay, mine in awfully clumpy. I stir it with a popsicle stick included in the kit until the clumps are gone.

Curses! This didn't come out quite right. I'm guessing the best way to touch up any lines is to go ahead and let it dry, put the screen block on, wash out the drawing fluid, and touch up the areas that have excess drawing fluid with some screen block brushed on. Yes? No?

Anyway, that's where I'm at now. I'll have to wait until things dry to go further.

    p.s.
I'm just messing with you. You will learn a few things.
Not the least of which is that Speedball kits suck.
Possibly that you hate screen printing

I think it did come with photoemulsion, but I don't have a clue where it is. I opened the stuff long ago and it seems the photoemulsion is the only thing missing. I started this knowing that the Speedball kit was for beginners, but again, it's what I've got now.

It won't surprise me to learn that I hate screen printing. I hate most methods of making art which is why I spend a lot of time just banging my head on the wall to kill some time.

hey u6crash i like it when people just go for it, it is all about trial and error. sometimes interesting things come from not knowing what you are doing.
after you screw around with the kit for a while then go have stevew show you what you are doin wrong

seriously it is nice that you are just jumpin in with a speedball kit

    I agree.
If I'd listened to anyone when I was starting out, I'd be working at kinkos right now.
I started with a speedball kit and some lead-based inks someone gave me.
