Default Screen printing at Pasadena City College

Hey all!
I teach a screen printing class at Pasadena City College. It is called "Screen Printing for Flat stock" (Graphic Communications 137). I teach from the ground up, no experience needed. I am a poster artist myself and have pages up here, a lot of my current students are street artists, but I would like more aspiring gig poster artists in my class. No lab fee, No critiques! This is not an art class (thank god!), I give an assignment utilizing one printing technique and the creative part is all up to you. Screens, inks, (water based) and emulsion is all there, we even have computers in the lab. I taught Micheal Micheal Motorcycle the basics of screen printing. Other poster artists who have passed through our lab include: Kevin Tong, Brian Ewing, The Harpoon, and Dave Lemon, check it out: Pasadena City College

Default You can enroll now.

If you want to sign up for my class, Here is what you do. Go to Pasadena City College, enroll for fall semester, get your date to register. On that date go to the Graphic Communications section (GRCOM) and find GRCOM 137, Screen Printing for Flat Stock, (Tuesday 6-10:30 PM) register and pay on line, and you are in. The budget situation here in California has the school wanting to cut classes weeks before the start date, so don't wait and tell a friend! If you have any problems, please PM me!

Thanks,
John Miner

Over here these classes fill up fast. Another odd thing about screenprinting classes. In a decade of teaching I've only had about 15 men take my class. 99% full of ladies.

this year, out of 13 so far, 8 women, 5 guys.

further breakdown:

2 first nation artists

2 profs From Arkansas

2 running a sheltered workshop where handicapped adults make recycled shopping bags from old blue jeans and print them

1 guy from Hong Kong works in screen supply/school.

2 women who design/print/sew their own clothing line, 15 yrs in biz, 2 retail stores in Vancouver and Victoria

1 highschool art teacher

1 college printmaking instructor

1 guy who's wife gave him the course for his birthday

We takes all kinds. At the local college, I'll bet 80% of the screen class is female.
