Hello all, I'm pretty new around here, only posted a few times. Anyway I have a gig commin up but I'm kinda stuck. I have two designs and I'm not sure which one I wanna submit to the band. The one with the moon is definetly more my style, but I fell the other design fits the music and audience a little more. I really like both designs, the only advantage to the one with the moon is that I will get to print a split fountain for the first time... Any suggestions?

Another thing I didn't realize is how many damn owl posters and illustrations are out there. Is the owl played out?

I'm not a fan of literal translation, unless Bird's work has some sort of explicit owl references that I'm not aware of.

computer fonts kill me.

95% of the time i'd rather see someone's crappy handlettering than some stupid font. makes it more personal.

but i guess that depends if you're hand drawing the bitch or letting the computer do it for you.

punk rawk and all that.

make it organic as much as possible. but i don't make rock posters so what do i know...

I think the font on the bottom one is fine. It fits the 'tude of the owl.
