Here is a poster I'm working on for a class. Any suggestions, I still need to draw the shot glass properly and I'm trying to make the bottle look like a Jose Cuervo one. Is the type too much? Thanks.

the type doesn't bother me. The worm in the bottle looks a bit out of place though. I realise it's the one from the logo but might be an idea, to rework it a bit so it doesn't feel so slapped on. Also might be an idea to roughen up the sides of the bottle, as the print in general is quite distressed so those perfectly straight lines stand out a bit. Just some thoughts. Take em' or leave em.
make the bottle and shot glass be either flat or both be 3D. The A in sandworms could also be solid into the S, like you did with R and M. Put the worm in the bottle under the halftone. it might lose that slapped on feel.
drink some tequila and think out it.
Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate it. 2D vs. 3D never would have crossed my mind in this case. Thanks again.
What they said. I'm personally not a big fan of those halftones.
I would work all of the text into the bottle labels. The half-tone highlights/shadows should all go the same direction rather than horizontal at the top and vertical in the bottle. The shot glass should be the same style as the bottle.
Or maybe the bottle in the same style as the shot glass?
the problem with doing the bottle in the style of the shot glass is the shotglass is already troublesome because the gray should be black since glass is clear! And the liquor in the glass should be convex rather than concave at that perspective.
Pick a focal point, Right now the band name and the show info are competing. In this case, the band name should probably draw more attention. Since the band name can't be bigger, make the rest of it smaller? Get rid of the worm in the bottle too repetitive. Also the typeface used for "Ghost Plant" and "Razor Doves" doesn't feel like it gels well with the other type treatment. Maybe try something else there? What the fuck do I know, though?
