Attempt at gig poster

Hello all!

I've been making posters for events at my school for a while now. It's turned into a great hobby which no-one seems to understand, thus I'm really excited to find this community!

Anyways, I was asked to make a poster for one of the biggest events of the year at my school, which makes me kind of nervous. Here's my attempt:

Go look at Zach Hobbs posters and attempt to replicate that shit. You don't have to do it well, just do it often and get your classmates to do the same so it totally kills that shit and it becomes passe and I don't have to look at it anymore.

the positioning of the text in the black boxes is throwing me off a bit...it looks a little too close to the top of the boxes. at least center the text in the one covering her eyes. also there's three little random dots along the left side where the black box comes into the picture. they should go away. other than that, it's not bad. it does what it's supposed to do.

I agree, 90 degrees feels wrongs in a one color halftone.
