Biography:

Mr. Sguigii is Malafamilia’s serigraphy project on paper. Malafamilia puts down the roots in artistic communication, and Mr. Sguigii is the natural evoution of it.

Communication is the main inspiration: each T-shirt is not only a product, but also a result of experimentation and application; each graphic is the finishing line of a long and detailed route, where stages are various and based on quality and capacity. Serigraphy expresses all this stuff perfectly and still can be considered an important art form, based on unicity and craftsmanship. In digital age, this is a really satisfying performance.

Printing is essential for communication, so it’s very important to understand its internal process in order to be able to appreciate its quality. To have Malafamilia and Mr. Sguigii’s products is to have unique, hand-made and ‘limited edition’ products…all against the mass/standardized ones. “Our final mission is to promote high-quality items at a very good price.”.

Frank Shepard Fairey, born in 1970, is an American contemporary artist, graphic designer and illustrator who emerged from the skateboarding scene; he can be considered one of today's best known and most influential street artists. This is his opinion about printing: “Printing means a lot to art. Someone said that it’s going to disappear, to be overcame by the digital one…But I think it won’t be possible to replace this fascinating, tactile experience. Street art and art galleries still stand. Sure as hell.”.
