    Default Marking up printing costs?

10,000 presentation folders, I obviously want to mark up a little on the printing cost as i will be supplying files, supplying quotes etc.

My question is: if the client will be billed by the printer, does the printer add on my mark-up then pay me after recieving the check? how does this work, or does it only work if I am paying for the printing and supplying directly to the client the finished articles?

Also whats a good mark-up guide for this type of quantity?

    Any help is help.

If the printer is cool, you can get them to work the cost like that but taxes start to get fucked up when they're giving you money that they're getting taxed on. You'd be better off finding another way to mark something else up if you need that extra cash.

Thats kind of what I thought - seems like it would only work with a good longstanding consistent relationship with the printer - that tax stuff would probably be worked out with an account with the printer or something. Hmm, phone calls are damn expensive these days, not to mention those couriers......
