Advice on an issue please

so i have been working with a band ( specifically the rhythm guitar player ) on shirt designs , after a few rejected designs we finally hit the mark so he sent a pic of the design to the lead guitar player ( who has final say on the merch / band / everything ) and he loved the design... BUT his girlfriend also saw the design and took it upon herself to do her version of the same idea that i worked hard on . now because its his GF he wants to use her version of my design ( even tho it sucks in comparison ) . the rhythm guitarist is pissed at them and ect , where do i stand on this ? cause i dont get paid unless they use my design and if they use her version of mine i get fuck all . HELP

phew... sounds like a cheap horror flick. Go talk to this lead guitar dude. if he has ANY sense he'll know where the original idea came from and cut a deal. if not..... um...slap him hard. (mind you. it was basically spec work. spec work is like that. spec work sucks, don't do it unless you're prepared for stuff like this to happen ALL the time)

seriously though, hopefully the band will realize the better art and go with yours, otherwise there's not much you can do, other than make people aware of it, but be professional about it.

So basically i just have to suck it up and try to feel good inside that i'm better than her .
the main reason that im pissed is that its my first design for a fairly well known band and all the other stuff ive done has been for locals . so my first chance to have a design seen around the continent and some parts of the world has been snatched by a fat biznatch .
im gonna talk to the guys and see if i can talk some sense into them ... or threaten rape perhaps ?
