One Of My Pieces to Appear In Book - What Should I Expect?

I've been contacted by someone about to update and expand his successful book featuring art concerning a certain individual (sorry for being cryptic, PM me if you want more info), and wants to know if I'd like my piece of the person included.

Which is cool, but I wonder what's the standard deal with this kind of thing? A limited buy-out or royalties based on sales? No cash but 'good publicity'? I have no idea. I've said yes and asked for more details, but meantime any advice eagerly anticipated.

ask for a copy or two of the book. thats par for the course. money would be nice but not always an offer.

you divide the cover price by 2 then divide that by the number of pages in the book. then multiply that by the number of copies of the book printed, and that's net for one page. divide that by two and that's your cut! it's customary to slide 10% to the art director or whoever contracted you.
