The nightmare scenario for all poster artists is the Arminski case. Arminski was sued for producing Phish and a Dave Matthews posters, even though he was contracted to produce them by the promoter.
I suggest that first, everyone read this excellent article by Jagmo about the state of poster law. It's long but worth it. pdf file

The case settled before trial and although I looked long and hard I could find the details. In his article Jagmo seems to be saying that Arminski had a BUNCH of solid defenses.
Anyone know the details to the settlement? I did find a article written before the settlement that said they were dropping the $ demand against him.
