    Default copyright for broadcasting permission

    Hello everyone.
A big Company has asked us permission to have one ofour posters in a TV serie, a pilt they're working at.
The poster would only be used to decorate the background of the set, it would not be featured or referred to in any way.
Do some ofYou know how to wok in these things?
    What to ask?

    Thanks

The companies that contacted us about using images always had a standard release contract stating they could use the image in the movie without compensating the artist but no rights are transfered. There was also a clause concerning use of the image in promotional shots and dvds but not as the actual promo image. In other words, the poster could be in the background of the picture but would not be used as the only image in the picture. It all boiled down to using the poster as set dressing but not paying for the use, which is fine because both times, the set designers had bought the posters from us or someone who bought the poster from us. Either way, we received our money from the sale of the poster.

the copyright stuff in EU might differ though.

I seem to recall goad getting burned on one of those roller girl shows when they said they wouldn't feature his poster prominately, and then they used it as the basis of the intro for the show.

    something like that.

    your mileage may vary.
