Letterpress.

While I understand that letterpress ain't a new idea, and prints can sometimes come out looking similar to other prints, these are awfully close. I'm not trying to stir up any sh@t...I just think this is pretty close to the same thing and felt the need to say something. I think Yee-Haw probably still sells these.

First: Letterpress prints by Yee-Haw Industries (over a year ago. maybe 2). I know because I bought them there. Transparent ink, and various letter / punctuation / etc.. prints. Many more than I've scanned here. The prints had nice deckled edges.

There are lots of letterpressed prints that have layered type. And I believe all ink for letterpress/offset is transparent.

Aw geez. Well, like I said, I'm not trying to stir anything up, I just thought I'd post a similarity I noticed...not so much in execution as in idea and form. Letterpress lends itself to these issues I suppose. Oh well.
