Tell them to go fuxx themselves just based on that. I do a lot of stuff for free but I won't work for anyone that says that. Maybe its just a pet peeve of mine but They're asking you to do work for free and then they make it sound like that you're doing yourself a favor on top of it.

If you plan on selling the posters, you really should have permission from the bands whose names are on the posters.

those two bands are a decent start dude. Semi-large in popularity... just remember.. when you are doing stuff for free... milk the shit out of all you can. ALSO... network with those bands if possible... bands are all about people designing good merch.

Say Hey, Just Started And Just Got My First "job" Making Posters For A Large Venue Here In Milwaukee. They Are Saying That It's Not A Paying Job, But It Would Get My Name Out There. I Know That This Happens To Real Artists All The Time (not Saying Poster Makers Aren't Real Artists, Just Me), Just Want To Know If This Is Standard And Looking For Any Kind Of Suggestions On The Business End Of Posters - Don't Really Want To Get Into The Business Aspect Of Something I Love But Don't Want To Get Fucked In The Ass Either.

What's the venue? I'm a photographer from Madison and I dealt with some real assholes in Milwaukee. The Rave/Eagles Club would be the first one that comes to mind.

If they aren't paying, make sure your name and contact info is in a place that it can be seen.

Just watch your ass, brother. People are out to fuck the artist.
