    Default Pricing for clothing line...

Awright, this has probably been approached elsewhere on the site but I haven't found it yet! I'm preparing to talk to a clothing company that has their stuff in pretty much every mall in America... They want to use some of my stuff on shirts that'll go for about $30 to $50 a pop... I'm virtually an unknown... What do I charge?

Ive got nil experience there, as I ended up just printing and selling em myself. Friends have outright sold their designs to a company, got money up front... but I kinda wonder if a royalty rate is better way to go, that way if its a hot design, youll get paid more for it... just a thought.

consider the potentail volume of the clothing line and make a decision from there. if they are moving a million garments per month or something like that then i would look at licensing the images to them if its gonna be a small run type deal then consider chargeing a set fee per image.
is the image going to be screen printed on shirts or is it going to be
    a bulk fabric type deal?

I'm no expert on this, but I'd ask for at least 10% of the WHOLESALE price per piece. So if they're retailing them for $50, they're probabyly wholesaling the shit for probably around $25, thus 2.50 a piece.

Don't sell you're designs outright unless you seriously need the cash. You'll end up shorting yourself in the long run.

WELL..IT SORT DEPENDS ON THE COMAPNY.

fuck i type like a retard.

I do lines of shirts for Levi's each season. they dont pay for shit
    -about 500 bucks per design.

I just did a series of hangtags for Express Jeans. they paid 5000.00

    per design.

it all depends on the company. Levis is HUGE+cheap

Express I NEVER heard fo (in Columbus Ohio)..and they paid HUge?

You ain't the only one in need o' new teefers Frank! Pepsi has dug some deep holes in the ol' toofs... We have a Dental plan thru the tattoo shop I work for but it's such a shitty plan that there's only one or 2 places locally that accept it and they are CREEPY! The best place is this fat little German woman Dentist... "Acht! Upen zee mout.... Gut, gut... Now zees not feel to gut..."
