Question What's involved with licensing a band logo/photo?

Does anyone here license any band logos and/or photos for posters or t-shirts? Anyone know what's involved with obtaining a license to use logos and photos on a design and legally sell it? I'm sure it's expensive, but I'd like to check it out. If someone could point me to some websites that deal with licensing, I'd appreciate it!

    Thanks,
    Bad Mange

what? like, getting a liscense to use a bands logo on something you make and sell it? if thats the case, my guess is a million billion dollars.

You can probably go one of two ways: either a flat license fee up front, after which you keep all the proceeds; or a license + percentage deal. The latter would be my choice, especially if it meant a small up-front fee followed by a reasonable cut of profits.

Thanks for your reply, Shmogger. Is there a company that handles licensing for a bunch of acts or would I need to contact each band's management company separately?
