can anyone offer any advice "legitimizing" myself. Is LLC a good way to go?

I've heard LLC is the way to go.
My girlfriend is a tax genius--- that's what she thinks as far as postermaker's / design studios.

Yes, it is!

I was just going to ask, which is the best way to go, tax wise? S corp or LLC?

Right now I'm in a standard partnership & we got clobbered last year. And we had a better year this year.

Crosshair is a Partnership, but I think I'm going to switch it to LLC because of liability benefits.

Self-employment tax is a bitch.
But not nearly as much a bitch as working for someone else. Fuck that. I will never work for someone else, ever again.

Has anyone here setup an LLC? I would love to talk about a few questions I have before I hit "pay" on LegalZoom.com.

Mine's an LLC. Worked well for me so far.

I used these guys to do it: Incorporate Your Business With IncLaunch.com Incorporation Services. Incorporating Made Simple!

The paperwork isn't that hard, but for $150-200 it was definitely worth my time and money to have them do it for me.

Didn't Kozik answer this question in depth last year?
