Default Legal issues of product shape

So, I want to print up a few t-shirts to be sold at a specific event, the design of which uses the very distinctive outline of a car.

    Whats the legality of this?
Does it make a difference if it is MY photo of MY personal vehicle?

Or do I need permission from the manufacturer? The size of the print run anmeans the chance of the manufacturer knowng about it is virtually zero but I would like to know anyway, especially if I want to do more in the future.

I think you should more than o.k. wih his... you are not insinuating the product is endorsed by the car manufacturer... I mean look at posters on here, there are cars everywhere with larger exposure than what you will be printing. I would not sweat it at all.
