allposters.com has been printing bootleg posters for years, not cutting them out of books but just straight up printing them, from low quality jpegs. we keep getting them taken down, its like whack-a-mole. if they say they're trying to turn things around now, that's good. but to me, they've been bad news and their reputation is mud.
but i could be completely wrong.
though if artists can get some money from them, that's good. bleed em for all you can.
Hi GP Forum. I’m a buyer at Art.com, and I want to jump into the forum here to address the criticisms of us that were raised yesterday.
As many of you have heard, we purchased a small amount of Gigposter vol 1 & 2 books (specifically, 10 copies of each book) so we could offer the tear-out posters in our custom-made frames. We believed this was the most efficient way to test out this type of merchandise on our sites. That said… we’ve heard the voices of your community loud and clear, and understand that most efficient and legal means don’t necessarily equate with best practices.
So out of respect to the hard working artists in this community, we will be pulling down ALL of the product from the Gigposters books. Please allow for one or two days for the items to come down fully from all of our sites.
We love the great work you guys are doing and hope that our customers around the world will respond the same way. Prior to all this happening, we were in the process of establishing direct wholesale relationships with many artists in this community that will benefit them directly. For those of you that are also interested in selling to Art.com and our customers, I encourage you to contact us by sending me a direct message or by emailing to firstname.lastname@example.org, and I or one of my colleagues will get back to you.
