Did anyone else have their poster used without their permission or knowledge? Should I be pissed?

I'd choose to take it as a compliment. I may be in the minority on this tho...

One of my posters made it on there. I take it as a compliment.
DIED YOUNG, STAYED NERDY!
Well they aren't exactly profiting off of any of the poster artists names/work, I'd think its more the other way around. If anyone still has a stack of their posters I'm sure this would help sell a few more copies as well... Or at the very least free publicity/validation/portfolio brag? Sort of like being published in a book I'd think?
They sent me two free copies of the vinyl. Just contact them, they were cool about it.
This is so lame. It's not a compliment, it's lazy.
((((((())))))))
I follow your logic... I really do. However, it's not like they used them on actual merch. They appear in a collage of many prints inside the album art... you can't even argue they were used to sell the album really. It's just sort of a bonus image to people who bought the album. Legally, they should have asked for permission to use the art (no doubt here) and you could probably give them a real hard time about that if you wanted to.i wonder if i do an unauthorized poster for them but sent them two copies they would be cool about it/
i can see both sides of this issue, but i think i would be pretty bummed if they used work that i did without asking or giving credit for it.
If it were me I'd use it to my advantage to make sure I got more work thru the band...
Let me ask this: were these prints all commissioned directly by the band? If so, it would have been pretty easy to contact the artists directly since they'd already worked together. I'm assuming some of these were done thru the venue or promoter.

The poster only exists because of the band and their name. Be happy for the exposure and move on.
If it were one of mine I'd think it was kind of cool and then move on with my life.
