True, it's appropriate for a live album or best of. Is that what this is? I didn't look that far in to it. I guess I'm lazy.
I believe it's just liner notes.
I think as a professional designer you have to ask yourself what you think about it and do what you think you need to to protect your work or not. Asking advice from a bunch of different people with different opinions isn't going to make your decision for you. I think its lame that no one was asked permission, but also like others have said...if you are selling the poster that you made for the band, whats wrong with them adding to their album art? If you had a specific agreement on the work you did for them that gave no rights to them to use your poster again, then you have a point...if not, live and learn...become more professional by acting that way and you will go a lot further.
