True- the lying part is lame as shit. BUT- who really cares- as long as you're properly protected by the Paypal shipping policies, what's the difference? You get the money- they get the poster. Isn't that the dream?

I don't offer discounts to anyone who resells, unless they have an established storefront or website, and I develop a business relationship with them. It benefits me to have another website selling my art- they have a vested interest in promoting me, and- they're advertising my name, and I'm getting paid for it. If someone wants to buy my prints to just flip on eBay, then they can pay full retail. There is no added benefit to me to have that happen. (or I should say- not enough of a benefit for me to offer a discount)

Now- the only issue I could see with having someone list your prints on their site and buy them from you when it finally sells- is inventory control- if you sell out of something on your end to your customers, and you don't immediately communicate that to your reseller, then they could end up selling to one of their customers and you couldn't fulfill it. Also, packing and shipping onesie/twosie orders to them all the time eats into your overhead, especially when you're giving them a discount. But that's just my two cents. If it's working for you, no need to change.

We're dealing with a flipping situation right now, but it goes far beyond them just buying the prints and reselling them at 3-5 times the price we charge. Since ebay started allowing presales, selling without having product in hand isn't a no no as long as they state it's a presale in the listing. AndyMac, I'll pm you later. Gotta go to my pottery class now.

Oh, and Jeff knows that movie poster dude from school. What a doosh.

I recently got a couple orders that came in from this guy (cambrias-closet@hotmail.com). Looks like he is currently flipping the "Eric Church" tour series on Ebay. cambrias-boutique777 | eBay

If you see your $30 poster selling for $100, raise your price to $200 and order 50 from them

What Crosshair and what Tuffy said

Also seems to me thatthat the artist might not (edit) have such a good 'presence' on ebay or in interwebz land if the 'flippers' end up selling posters that are not sold out yet . The market will always decide and if some sucker is buying a poster at triple the price you charge you have a few clear messages : 1) your price might not be set at optimal level according to the market and/or 2) ebay customers didn't find your own sales front. The latter should be a big deal if your business relies on actually selling the damn things

    Hi, everyone. First post.

Given that a lot of the flippers seem to operate on eBay, surely the easiest way to circumvent this is by opening your own eBay Storefront to market your designs. I'm not a designer myself (just a collector), so perhaps there's something I'm not accounting for here, but it seems a logical way of increasing sales/business visibility while simultaneously undercutting flippers who will be priced out of the market.
