Has anyone ever been approached about giving clearance to a TV show to use your poster art in an episode?
If so were you compensated $omehow?
We just got a call yesterday and I wasn't sure what to say...

ther was a thread a while back about whose posters were in what movies (steve walters etcetera)...
I had my Mean People Suck stickers in the movies The Faculty and Josie and the Pussycats. Those are the only two that have contacted me for stuff.
Wasn't compensated, but then I look at it as free publicity.
Ask for a walk on roll.
I did a poster for Papa Roach...it was used on Smallville...once...but the girlfriend of the drummer's sister or something worked for the show and wanted to promote the band...I did not get asked or get anything for it...but I was psyched to have it on the show...I have been approached by movies...and not been offered any payment...but at the moment...I would just like to have a poster featured...if we can get money for this type of thing...I would be interested in knowing too....
I saw one of my posters on Law and Order,
it was hanging in the murderers room,
I was psyched , I love law and order.
My friends at Merge records sent them a bunch of stuff
for set decoration.
I wasn't compensated in money, just excitement.
What the fuck else is new ?

As far as I can tell if they buy your poster from you they can do what ever they want with it as long as it's some sort of set decoration and not being used to promote the show or movie.
Yup, sold about 750,000 of them and about 40,000 shirts and hats. Didn't make to much money from it, fucking distributors. But it did lay the groundwork for what Diesel Fuel is today. I started Diesel Fuel with that saying, a print job from a local record store, and my last $30.00. I had no skills other than screenprinting and I had to turn $30.00 into rent and food money so I could stay alive.Originally Posted by rockologist
