For anyone else that is interested. These below are the details for the show this year. Please contact me if you're interested, I'll be announcing the lineup by March 15.
We are working with the Independents Coffee Cooperative again for a show of caffeine-infused art to help raise money for the Peruvian farmers who grow and sell the coffee that's sold at the Cooperative coffeeshops throughout Philadelphia.
I know for a lot of you coffee is a muse, it's inspiration, it's like manna from heaven. For the show we're looking for art inspired by all aspects of coffee, from the growing and harvesting of the beans, to the simple pleasures of a morning cup, and anything inbetween.
This year Beans and Screens is going to be a real touring show. Beginning in July it will have month-long residencies in coffee houses through out Philadelphia, and should be up for at least 5-6 months.
We are asking for 15 copies of your print, and we will frame them for the show, and sell the additional copies through the Cooperative website and at opening nights in each location. On top of the 15 show prints, your print run can be as large as you want, and you can sell those prints however you please.
100% of the profits made through the show at the Cooperative coffee houses will go to Cooperativa San Fernando, a farmer-owned organic coffee cooperative located high in the Andes Mountains near Cusco, Peru.
I don't want to put a crimp on anyone's creativity, but to make life easier on the folks at the Cooperative, who will be framing everything, we are asking that all prints come in at one of the following standard sizes:
9x12
16x20
18x24
24x30 (if you really want to go big..)
With the first show going up at the beginning of July, the deadline to turn in prints will be Friday, June 5.
For Beans and Screens 2009 we are going to have room for about 22 individual prints, and so far I have heard a lot of interest. Having gotten all the details, if you definitely want to participate, please shoot me an email back. I'll announce the final list of artists by March 15th.
