Los Angeles- The annual Art Crawl is back with one
heck of a kick-off. The OFFICIAL Opening Night Party
and Group Exhibition will unleash the tale of ROCK
ART
with an Album Cover Art Retrospective, (condensed
version) featuring the album/CD art of over 15
exhibiting artists. Come as your favorite album
cover
and win the Album Cover Costume Contest!

Guests can look forward to an evening of art,
entertainment, fine dining and community outreach. A
percentage of profits will benefit nonprofit 501c
musicians relief fund, Sweet Relief. Sweet Relief
provides financial assistance to all types of career
musicians who are facing illness, disability, or
age-related problems.

THE ART- Beginning with album art originator Alex
Steinweiss, Columbia, 1939, moving through time to
contemporary local artists such as Autumn De Wilde
of
the Elliot Smith and Beck fame and Cole Gerst artist
for such notable labels as Interscope, Epitaph
Capitol
etc., Also on exhibit, 2003 DVD Awards Alex
(Steinweiss) Award winner, Erika Records, and
artwork
from independent label Flame Shovel home of The
Natural History, etc.

Also on exhibit is the dynamically diverse poster
art
of DARREN GREALISH, whose work appears in 3 new
books.
"Art of modern rock" by Paul Grushkin & Dennis King
and "SWAG" by Spencer Drate, The Art of Electric
Frankenstein. Darren Grealish is also currently working
on finishing up work on his highly anticipated solo book
of his diverse work available to the public
sometime this year as well as opening his retail outlet
in the Silverlake area. His posters span the rock world,
Beck, the Zombies, the Flaming Lips, Detroit Cobras,
Hot Hot Heat, Low, The Seeds, Queens of the Stone
Age, PJ Harvey, The Warlocks, The White Stripes,
The Hives, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The
Raveonettes, The Flaming Lips, the Brian Jonestown
Massacre, Motorhead, Interpol, and countless others.

THE MUSIC-
A LIVE PERFORMANCE BY LOCAL GARAGE GODS: THE MORLOCKS!!!
Get to the party early! You won't want to
miss local underground and theatrical darlings The
SOUNDS OF ASTEROTH. Their recipe is simple: a dash
of
rock,
a pinch of pop, dry ice, a teaspoon of glam, a
smidgen
of campy punk , a cup of Spanish horns, a boiling
hot
dance troupe, 4 scoops of organic harmonies,and a
hand
full of glitter. The evening will also host the
release of their CD. PLUS special surprise special
guests. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS!
DJ JASON from THE WARLOCKS will be spinning sounds
from 60's to the present.
Stage and sound sponsored in part by Swing House
Studio's. If Hollywood is the home of rock and Roll,
then Swing House is its living room.

THE FOOD and DRINK- Cocktails will be available for
sale to guests 21 and over with valid ID. Tapas
style menu provided local flavor Cobras and Matadors. This
is a cash only event, no credit cards please.

THE LOCATION- Safari Sam's Sunset Stage. Located at
5214 Sunset Blvd. Between Normandie and Hobart. Soon
to be LA?s hotspot for live entertainment. Rock,
Jazz,
blues art, heater and poetry. Official opening,
November/December 2004.
