Call for Artists: Insolvent

CALLING ALL PRINTMAKERS!

Motörik! Arts is now accepting submissions for an upcoming printmaking exhibition to be held at BIG TABLE STUDIO.

Big Table Studio is a working design and print studio located in downtown St. Paul.

This exhibit is open to all types of printmaking (including spray-painted stencils). All artwork must be at least partially printed by hand.

The theme of the exhibition is "Insolvent."

“Insolvent” is inspired by the economic meltdown, as well as the fact that printmakers work with all kinds of nasty chemicals and solvents.

Submissions must be submitted electronically.

Please send 3-5 sample images in JPEG format, together with a brief artist bio, to: mail@motorikarts.com

There is no fee to submit your work.

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS JANUARY 20, 2012

Artists will be notified by e-mail in early February.

“Insolvent” is tentatively scheduled to open on March 10, 2012. We will be showing work by 5-12 artists, depending on the size of the pieces, and the quality of the work.

If your work is accepted into the show, there is no hanging fee, but Big Table Studio charges a small commission on all works that are sold through the gallery.
Artists will be asked to contribute a suggested donation of $10 to help pay for postcards and publicity.

ABOUT: BIG TABLE STUDIO

Big Table Studio aims to be a screen-printing community center, hosting printing classes, mounting poster exhibitions, throwing poster-related parties, and working with the community to spread the word about design and printing.
