    MAIN Receptions: April 15th-16th. 5-10pm (Friday and Saturday). FRIDAY is a SUPERHERO COSTUME CONTEST ($100 1st prize!!). All EVENTS are ALL Ages. Refreshments always provided. THE COMIC SHOW is in league with The Settlement Galleries – Pioneer Place Mall. Book Release for Gan Golan.

    Book Release One Night Only w Artist – Dirty Donny: April 8th, 5-9pm. Artist will be showing original works and rare prints for the month of April, but he is ONLY in town for this day to sign books exclusively with our gallery!!!


    In league with the StumpTown Comic Festival, our gallery is hosting a giant handful of industry artists involved with the festival, exhibiting original comic works, rare original paintings, illustrations, books, prints and merchandise…EVERYTHING COMICS!!!. We are also showcasing TWO book releases: (1) from the infamous Dirty Donny and (2) from critically hailed artist Gan Golan and friends. Both California based artists have just released new books and are on tour. WE are also FEATURING a COMIC BOOK COSTUME CONTEST (anything goes…) for our opening night.

    COMIC BOOKS ARE DIFFERENT THESE DAYS…..

    …and shows like THE COMIC SHOW prove it. We are showcasing over 30 talents from the field of independent publishing, comics and political commentary. This large show features many book, poster and print artists – working in the industry of comic books and its many facets.


    GIG POSTER ARTISTS OF THE MONTH:
    Featured in the Peoples’ Blue Collar Area– Jim Mazza and Tyler Stout

    Jim Mazza is an illustrator/ designer living in Santa Clarita, CA, with his fiance,Ever, and his cat, Soda. Jim has been designing gigposters since 2004.


    Tyler Stout was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He’s done work for Burton Snowboards, Forum Snowboards, Libtech Snowboards, Nike, adidas, Xbox, MTV, Grenade Gloves, Etnies, Sobe, The New Yorker, as well as bands like Flight of the Conchords, Phish and Tenacious D. He also does screenprinted posters for movies, mostly for the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin Texas. After living in Bellingham WA, Charlotte, VT and Portland, OR, he currently resides in Brush Prairie, WA, next to the house he grew up in.


    Feature Artist – Book Release - DIRTY DONNY

    "Dirty" Donny Gillies grew up in Ottawa Canada skating, drawing and listening to punk and Metal. He cut his artist teeth razor blade sharp designing album covers and posters for underground rocks best. These
    days Donny resides in San Francisco California as a full time artist. There really isn't anything Donny hasn't painted on or done work for. His art is spread wide across Lowbrow, rock and skate circles with projects ranging from Toys and decks to paintings, hot rods and record cover art for companies like Vans, Fender and Dunlop. You can bet while your reading this Donny is painting on something somewhere.
    In the hands of an artist like “Dirty” Donny Gillies, silkscreen prints become
    models of craftsmanship, with layer upon layer of vibrant colors and intricate
    detail. Monster Revolt embodies this dedication and is crammed with hundreds of
    images documenting his work to date. The book features; one-of-a-kind pinball
    machines, skateboard decks, guitar picks, limited edition posters for bands such as
    The Hellacopters, Queens of the Stone Age, Groovie Ghoulies, Mudhoney, stickers,
    paintings, album covers, an entire chapter on his work for Metallica, and tons more.
    Experience it all in his first ever monograph, featuring commentary by Metallica’s
    James Hetfield, Steve Caballero, Frank Kozik and other “Dirty” Donny aficionados.


    Feature Artist – Book Release – Gan Golan - and the team from Unemployed Man:
    Ramona Fradon, Rick Veitch, Michael Netzer (Artists); Erich Origen (Author).

    Unemployed Man, a recently fired superhero, teams up with his trusty sidekick Plan B on a heroic search for work. They quickly find themselves battling against the Just Us League, a group of super villains that include The Human Resource, Pink Slip and The Invisible Hand. Unemployed Man and Plan B team up with a new group of down-but-not-out heroes including Master of Degrees, Fellowman and Wonder Mother, to battle the Just Us League before a sinister plot that threatens the entire world is unveiled.

    I would like to be considered for any and all future comic themed exhibitions. I've drawn 7 graphic novels as well as an ever increasing number of comic strips. I'm also funny looking and moderately well groomed.
