Lil Tuffy is a San Francisco based artist and designer most notably known for his hand-printed concert posters for bands like Devo, Raveonettes, Sonic Youth and Pavement.
Test prints are artifacts and by-products of the screen-printing process typically used for adjusting color and registration or simply to remove ink from the screen.
What would typically be discarded is transformed into a unique juxtaposition and unreproducable monoprint comprised of an unplanned and chaotic layering of type, colors and shapes from a myriad of independent and unrelated designs.
Testing 1-2-3 is an exhibition of 25+ monoprints created over seven-year span of hundreds of posters.
