Went over the the cellspace.org website and it seems they have had some problems with their firecodes. Does anyone have any idea if this will impact the upcoming flatstock show?

Dear CELLspace Community,
CRISIS = OPPORTUNITY!
As you may have heard, the police have visited Cellspace and prohibited further production of large events until we can comply with city building and fire codes. We are NOT being shut down -- we still host lots of classes, rehearsals, etc., and invite your increased participation. Rather, we are in the process of upgrading, complying with code, and hosting events again soon, and we need your help to do it! We need time & money to do the upgrades, and the closure to events puts us in particular need because events have typically paid for about 50% of our monthly rent. We have recently received facility improvement grants from California Lawyers for the Arts, SF Art Commission, and SF Grants for the Arts, (THANKS!) so we are on our way, but much more is needed. As a volunteer-run organization, we are proud to say that grants will be spent on building materials rather than salary or overhead. It is a time of crisis, but also a time of great opportunity, and we are psyched about the future: when we will be a fully legal community arts space! So please read on about how you can help.
SOME CONTEXT: YOUTH SPACES / ART SPACES
The recent police visits Cellspace has exclusively occurred at youth-based events, both of which were well-managed and peaceful. This is a reminder that there are few youth-oriented spaces out there, and many Mission youth are feeling justifiably angry about feeling "targeted" by the authorities. Cellspace provides a positive, creative environment for youth as well as artists. Also, other art and performance spaces have been receiving police attention, and venues like Cell are very difficult to find. It is more important than ever that Cell get back on its feet, so please do help!
