If this is like the Sweet exhibit then John used these cool magnets to hold everything up. They look like tacks in images but are harmless to the posters. John has too much respect for posters and the designers to wreck the pieces.

That magnet trick is vintage Shipman. Thanks for posting these John!!! (And for hanging me next to the beloved Little Friends!)
john is cool and all, but he would be 100% bitchin' to the max if he used fire to tack up our posters.
i like fun.

I thought you meant complaining to my son for a moment... I need some sleep
sorry for any slow response, we've been crazy busy here at the gallery installing a new printmaking exhibition (with Judy Pfaff as one of the artists - sweet, sweet stuff!).
absolutely positively no thumbtacks at all! (thanks el jefe for gettin' my back...) yep, they are rare earth magnets that hold the posters up, so no posters were damaged. if anyone ever wants to get some contact Tim Boettcher at Amazing Magnets 888-727-3327 x188. please let him know that you saw them used in this show (and Sweet) and you want to support him since he supports these exhibitions (he's donated the 1500 magnets used for both exhibitions - he's a poster fan).
now, as for allison's suggestion... i'll have to find a way to use fire....
and mr fuz, i put you next to them with just that in mind my friend.
also by the way too as well - i realized i didn't have any good images of michael michael motorcycle, dan grzeca, and animal rummy's work (sorry guys) and i'm waiting to get some from flint. their work is on the same wall as soon as you come in the gallery facing the title wall (dan and mmm to the left, rob to the right alongside delicious).
Looks super cool. How did the catalog turn out?

i think this should be the year of jeff... thats all i'm sayin'.
hey dan, catalog looks great but they made it a brochure instead and hacked my essay to pieces. i have a whopping one copy for myself - i'll ask flint to send you some.
