Default Flatstock Europe 2009

AKA Flatstock Europe 4. AKA Flatstock 23.

It's on. September 24-25-26 in Hamburg, Germany.

Because of the travel involved, this one requires more careful planning on the part of the artists. So I want to start this thread to give people the opportunity to ask questions, share information, see testimonials from past attendees, etc.

Vital statistics:

Flatstock Europe is presented by American Poster Institute and the Reeperbahn Festival.
It is held outside in tents, like Chicago Flatstock. The site is smack dab in the middle of the Reeperbahn, Hamburg's historic red light district, amid a multitude sex shops, peep shows, bars, clubs, doner stands, and right next to a gas station teeming with a thousand varieties of amazing beer.

As with all Flatstock events, in order to participate you must be a current member of the API. Membership costs $40 annually. More info here: API - American Poster Institute - Join

The tents are 3x6m. Half a tent is equivalent to a single space at a US flatstock.
A full tent is equivalent to a US double.
Half Tent (3x3m) - 150 Euros
Full Tent (3x6m) - 300 Euros
...half tents may be split between 2 artists. Work this out with your partner.
Artists are responsible for their own travel and lodging.

Flatstock Europe, like other Flatstock events, is piggybacked onto a music festival.
In this case, our partner is the excellent Reeperbahn Fest. - Reeperbahn Festival
Their website includes lots of helpful links for travel and lodging information.
Lodging in Hamburg is inexpensive by US standards, but it's a good idea to book early.

Last year's Flatstock Europe was the biggest, best rock poster show ever to happen in Europe, and featured 38 artists from 8 countries. I know a number of artists, from Europe, the UK, and North America already plan to attend this year.
If you haven't been before, and are interested, don't be shy! Make yourselves known.

Old timers, lets see your pics.

ALSO- The previous weekend, there is another poster event in Tilburg, Holland, organized by our own beloved Mara Piccione. See here:
Z-stock, Holland @ zxzw festival!

...this is a great opportunity to get more poster action out of your trip. I'm sure Mara will comment further.

that photo of me and drew is one of my favorites. poor little sailor was in uncharted territory, down the Elbe and beyond the sea of Astra, at that point, and he just kept sailing.

i'll be in HH again, certainly.
