Avoiding Chicago Traffic?

OK Chicagoans - help me out here - driving in to the city from Ohio, what's my best bet to avoid the 2-3 hours of traffic bullshjt I inevitably run into coming into town?

I usually drive in coming up 65 from Indy, then 90 to the Dan Ryan or whatever.

Arrive at 3 a.m.

Take the Indiana Skyway - pay the $3.15 in tolls. You will then get to see beautiful downtown Gary as well ... former home to half of Mile44 - woohoo.

Depending on where you're staying, you can either get off at Stoney Island which takes you to Lake Shore Drive. Or you can stay on the Skyway / Dan Ryan and come in on the west side of the loop.


Stoney Island is intereting ... you can See Farrakhan's compound, the museums and Soldier Field - all within minutes of each other.
