About LinkBacksThe South Austin Museum of Popular Culture had its most successful Flatstock year. Our gross was over 46 times what was done last year. The Museum was packed today with out of towners and we couldn't be more pleased. Plus being able to see all the other artists' work and the common and uncommon themes being portrayed in the multitude of posters was beyond phenomenal. Do you API-ers realize the impact of your work? The group of FS12 posters the Museum collected will be shown at our next opening (in our permanent collection viewing area, otherwise known as the corner of Jim Franklin and Henry Gonzalez's work room) on April 2.

This makes me very happy.... I am always excited to see that the Armadillo gang shows up at Flatstocks in Austin... and I am beyond pleased that you guys seem to be having success at the shows
I think it should be mandatory for all new API artists to show up at your booth and listen to at least a few stories from any of the Armadillo artists

I'm glad you guys had a successful weekend Leea! I would love to get any kind of FS promotion or photos of your April 2nd show for the API archives. Send an email or post a thread on the details of the show too.

Last year the first day was very sluggish but we had a good day all three days with excellent crowd turnout for the whole event.

South Austin Museum-related highlights for me:
Jim Franklin hanging at the BBQ. We should have thrown a rock at that bright-ass light.
I had a great long chat with Bill Narum about how the scene was in the days of the Dillo as opposed to now. Narum still has plenty of gas in the tank. I'm pretty stoked about the possibility of seeing a new Narum poster.
But by far the best: While standing in front of my double booth receiving flattering compliments from Micael Priest, telling him to his face that he is one of the 2 artists on the planet whose work inspired me to do poster art. That was a grand and very emotional personal moment.Asshole for the People™
