yeah I agree that it's nobody whining about this. it mainly stems from the booths where it's hard to even find a band name on the pieces of paper hanging on the wall. or a wall full of shirts. fair is fair, bring your a-game bitches and see ya in september.

Oddly, this formula continues to pay dividends for me.

Oh, and are your sales declining, from pre-2008 when everyone was flush with disposable income and spent it on impulse, and artists could go to Flatstock with a display full of half assed shit and still walk away with 2 grand?
    Make better posters.
    It's that simple.
People don't have the kind of money they used to. They aren't going to spend it on a half-assed poorly-registered 2 color poster with some image you grabbed off of google images and a fucking font. Not when the artist next to you is showing something awesome that they busted their ass to make. It's called competition. Impress me. I see a ton of posters at Flatstock that do not impress me. That is not good enough. Not anymore.
    perfectly put.

There is a lot of sense made here. I definitely agree that 70/30 is fair. I also agree that API rules and goes through hell for us. I support their decisions. Also bring your A-game, what Dan said makes a lot of sense.

I'll do my best to bring my B- game...it's all I got.

I have to say I agree with Tuffy and Dan, and it REALLY pains me to have to say that. I have looked at some booths in the past and had to scan for a band name. Always seemed a bit odd. Don't have enough gig posters to fill 70%? Then grab a sharpie and write 'Black Keys' on your art prints and what them fly out the booth....

While I agree with everything being said here, wasn't this rule always the case? I could have sworn I read the rule in the first Flatstock contract I signed. Granted that was only in 2010.
