OK, so I have my friend's really nice camera and a pack of digital videotapes...
It's a news-type camera that you hold over your shoulder. It's a few years old, but cost around 4G when it was new. Has a bad-ass mic, auto-focus, & zooms like a bitch. I thought I'd bring it to Flatstock & film random shit that hopefully captures a little of the Flatstock experience.
But here's the thing - I'm asking for help filming, cuz I'll be busy and unable to film the whole time. I'd also like to have a little fun myself. So, if there's anyone (or more than one person) that would like to walk around & film shit, I'd be happy to loan the camera & let you document the good parts of what we call Flatstock.
By "good parts" I mean not just boring pics of people's booths, or ambiguously gay interviews...I'm talking about filming people making out at the BBQ, at shows (if the camera is allowed), shooting fish with an AK-47 at Connor's, potato guns, Coke can bongs, Mexican wrestler masks, passed out folks & more...Really try and capture those things that have made this community so close, as well as what goes on from 11-6 at Flatstock. But just as importantly, go beyond that and into the social part of it.
Maybe when it's all said & done we can have someone edit it into something we can all have as a souvenir. At the very least, we can stop talking shit about how others have documented the poster art scene and lay down some footage of the shit that WE'D like to see.
But seriously...I need volunteers to step up that would be willing to help with the filming. I'd prefer to know you, but at the least let's sit down first for a beer so I can feel comfortable that I'm not loaning my friends camera to a crack addict. I'll have the camera there regardless, y'all shoot me a message if you'd like to film.
