Is flying in and out of San Antonio a clusterfuck for Flatstock? I don't like the remaining fligh options on United into Austin so looking at last minute options or backups

It's a small airport and generally easy to get through quickly, but I'm not sure about SXSW...
This guy here looks like he knows his shit... http://www.sanantonio.gov/Aviation/welcome.asp
Rene, are you driving? It's about an hour south of Austin. Just a straight shot on IH 35. Not bad at all...don't know how it'll be during spring break though, maybe add 15 minutes to your drive. I like flying out of SA because it's almost always $100 cheaper than Austin. I say do it...but only if you have a ride or are getting a car. If you're walking, fly into Austin.
you can take a greyhound from san antonio - but i think they might only drop off in deep north austin.
I am too old to walk. I'll have a rental. Might come if I can swing the free time out of work and maybe can help a bit at the API booth. The memories!

if you have a car, it's an easy drive then. a nice drive. should be clear until you hit austin city limits, but then you can just take side streets. or go hide out at the connor compound.
San Antonio International is traveler friendly and just about an hour drive from airport to downtown Austin. The only downfall to SAIA is you have to shuttle to and from the rental car places, but each company has their own shuttle. They are in the middle of a terminal remodel, but it isn't affecting travel much at all.
I've got a bike, you can ride it if you like... - Syd
SA is always in the middle of a remodel. That whole town is under remodel. Sigh.
Yeah, Rene, you're welcome to stop by our house, we're on the southside of Austin. Jared will make some ribs for you.
When are you due to come to Texas?
just booked... flying in wednesday, leaving on saturday
i will arrange a car and see what happens
the connor compound sounds great for ribs
will just roll with punches
can't wait

what syd said. I hate the SA airport just b/c getting out of there is confusing, but you're a guy and thus, probably good with directions, so I'm sure you'll have no problems.
The drive is not pretty, by any means, but saving the money is worth it.
