I thought it might be interesting to find out what everyone on here uses to create /manipulate images.

I use the following on my PC:

Paint Shop Pro - mainly for the browse feature, and for general stuff

Macromedia Fireworks - primary creation and adding effects. Also, great for layers.

ACDSee - thumbnail creation

* feel free to cut these down, and tell me whats better, etc. I think a good discussion on this could help some people out *

yikes ... paint shop pro!

i use:
Photoshop for raster stuff that isnt for the web.

Fireworks for all web related images.

Illustrator 9 for vector art.

Freehand 9 for when illustrator gives me a fucked up error and i need another way to open the illustration.

Streamline for converting to line art.

-Photoshops 3, 4, and 5
Illustartor 6 and 9
Quark
Streamline
Wacom Tablet
big fat Epson scanner

I got all that flash and shockwave crap too, but don't know how to use it. When I get those jobs i hire a guy in to do them.

and then like all the 'crayon in my ass' type of manual labor as well.

Adobe products rule.

Hands down - Photoshop for images. I actually will grab cd's of Corel Photopaint and stomp on it violently like it's a poisonous bug. Anything Corel, Corel Draw etc suck big ones! god they suck so bad. Illustrator for vector line work and / or coloring (some people like Freehand for vector) it's a preference thing both are strong. I would really dig to find Zip-a-Tone again. Anyone?

I've used Corel Photopaint for years now, and I've never had a problem. Basically someone bootlegged it for me, so it was the only thing I could get for years, so I can wield it well.

illustrator, photoshop, streamline - all old versions because i'm po' like kenny. i mess around w/ flash and fireworks for web stuff, but i never have time to practice anymore so it all looks pretty rudimentary to me - at least i was able to steal current versions of those from work.
