it is for a mac. I am going to use it for all of my transparencies. Maybe 20% halftones.

You don't really need a RIP for anything but halftone work IMO.
I used FastRIP for halftones and the standard Epson drivers for everything else. I print about 400 sq. feet of film a week without any problems but I'm using a 9600.

I am having a hard time with the amount of ink that the standard driver puts down. The printfab that I tried out put down the right amount of ink but there were other issues.

I was only able to get the 3000 to print dark enough on the PC - the Mac driver didn't have the same options.

What type of film and ink are you using? What settings are you printing at?

Matt talk to Scot - S blake at Monsterpress

he has the same setup. ghostrip i think he uses.

If you are getting too much ink down, try some of the different settings (backlit film, canvas, photo paper) in the printer driver, this varies the ink lay I think.

I always had trouble getting enough ink down - a lot depends on your film.

OSX with Epson 3000 using Adobe Illustrator 10.

Not sure why but this only works with AI10.

No RIP necessary!
