    Default Another Knock out question

Does anyone know how to get rid of knockouts in Illustrator CS3??? I don't want them.
I want to print color on top of color, but when I print, the top layers knock out the ones below. The layers have all been converted to spot colors that are recognised in the print dialog.
When i click the other layers off it prints fine one at a time.
I've clicked off "knock out group" in the transparency palette, but it still prints with knockouts! I must be overlooking something

I build each color as a separate layer and run them out individually. But there is also the "overprint fill" in the attributes that you could check.
