Back when I ran a button company I had a custom system built that was a bit simpler than the sites your linking, but I can tell you that the php code was very sophisticated. I also had a full back-end that made everything easy to get to. Unless you are a hardcore programmer I would outsource the job.

I know there is some website where you can put an ad up and have programmers bid on it. Or there has to be some sort of forum like this for programmers where you could find someone reliable.

I don't know anyone that has used them but I'd be interested how good a job they do.

Elance.com does that "post project and get bids" thing. I used to get a good deal of programming work there. I would offer my services, but I'm way overbooked at the moment. The php backend is going to be the most intensive stuff; but a lot of php programmers won't be able to build the front end. You may end up needing two programmers.

I think your best bet is going to get someone to wrangle the code for an open source e-commerce platform (osCommerce, Magento, etc.) into what you need. With the exception of the upload script, you would only need a CSS programmer to modify the template files if you're using an open source backend.
