a question for the Flash dudes

every once and I while I come across this problem where, if I have a Flash piece on a site (like a header image or some kind of animation or something) and then I put a FLV player swf in the content area of the site-
sometimes the FLV Video will not show up... the Audio does play... and the player acts like it's loading up information correctly and all that.

anyone else run into this? have a solution?

Are you calling things in action script? It might be you are calling things to the same level?

any more details than that? it doesnt work once its deployed or while you or testing, or what?

yeah - it doesn't work once deployed.

I'm just doing the bare-bones FLV Playback component.

I just read somewhere that there could be a conflict between the frame rate of the FLV and the frame rate of the SWF file- which seems odd since the SWF file is one frame, with the component in it. Anyway- I'm remaking the FLV at 24 fps, and going to publish the SWF at 12 fps and see if that makes a bit of difference.

I still think it's something about having another SWF on the same page... but I don't know.

more than one swf on the page? how are you embedding? swfobject?

you could have 50 flash animations on a page and it would make no difference other than slowing your computer down.

yeah, it was just 2 SWF files on the page. bizarre.

there was some kind of conflict. what was the conflict? unknown.

the solution: re-author using the SteelOverAll player and use the AC_RunActiveContent.js instead of SWFobject.

it's weird because we've done the "incorrect" method on the same sites, and other client sites, and there was never a problem. meh.
