A wacom may or may not help with cod4 but it'll be a lot more ergonomic to doodle with. That's my 2 cents.

Logitech makes some good mice.

The Logitech G5 gaming mouse is pretty sweet. Their Mac drivers blow, so if you're on a Mac get SteerMouse to go with it and you're golden. The only thing that sucks is the completely texture-less scroll wheel.
