Wacom/Photoshop brushes Question.

I love using my Wacom but there is one thing I am trying to figure out.

Is there anyway I can adjust a brush to make it super clean? When I draw with the grip pen using a photoshop brush, let say just in B&W, it looks really good on the screen but then when I take the Magic Wand to select either the black line or the white area next to it I always end up with an "In between" grey area left out.

I'd like to, at the very least, be able to reduce that as much as possible if I can't have a clean line.

I already tried to adjust the brush in the Brushes window by setting the shape dynamics hardness at 100% and the spacing at 1%. Anything else I can try?

Maybe downloading a supa doopa clean brush that does that?

Maybe I'm asking too much from my lovely Wacom.


Any help would be welcome.

if you were doing black and white only you could do a hi-res file and use the pencil tool instead of a brush. that's the only way i could think of getting no anti-aliasing. good question though. i'd like to know too

I hate the look of the pen tool, but yes, the pen tool is doing what I want the brushes to do.

I asked about this because I'd like to work in color and still be able to select a color with the magic wand.

make sure the brush hardness = 100%
you'll have some grey but if you open up the tolerance of the magic wand it will grab much if not all of it

here's what I would try: paint/draw, wand/select similar, fill, select inverse and fill with the other color

brush anti aliases, pencil does not.

both are pressure sensitive.

with the magic wand make sure the little box that says 'anti-alias' is unchecked, it always works best for me if I have something selected and then fill it with a color multiple times... it fills in all those little outside pixels the wand doesn't select, that help?!

If you are drawing with the Pencil tool in a document of at least 300 DPI the aliasing you see on screen will be imperceptible when printed. Try it out, draw some thing then print. If to jagged for your taste just up your DPI.

also, if the problem is the selection (for coloring or whatever), you can select the first Lock item on the Layers tab. It will look like an empty box. It will lock down all the pixels so that you can just fill it without missing some of the pixels on the edges. i know that might sound a little confusing but just turn it on and then fill the whole layer with a color and you will see what i'm talking about. It's a pretty nifty trick.
