    Default dotted line in Photoshop?

how do I make a dotted or dashed line around a shape in Photoshop?
I know I've done it before, but now I have no clue.
    Thanks

You basically have to create a brush and adjust the spacing in its settings. Then you can make a selection and apply an outline to it using that brush. I always just do it in illustrator, a bit more flexible that way.
