WinXP update & ZoneAlarm

there's a new windows security update that screws up newer versions of zonealarm - it'll kill your internet connection if ZA is on. they're working on a fix now. so

1. hold off on xp updates til zonealarm comes up with a patch or
2. go back to an older version of ZA (like 6 or earlier)

I haven't used any third party firewall for years - why are you guys? There's really no point. Windows Firewall and Windows Defender do one hell of a job. Thats all I need. Why use Zonealarm these days? I'm just curious...

I was using ZoneAlarm before XP, i think.... I just like the interface. For all I know Windows Firewall's the same damned thing, but every new XP machine I've bought, I put ZA on it right away. I like the way you can permanently block programs (which I do for a bunch of stuff) or have it ask you every time you open the program (like QT and iTunes).
